SPam of thE Week and site news!

Site traffic by unique visitors is up over 16% this month. How did I do it? Hard work, dedication, marketing genius, and, of course, fixing Google Analytics since it didn’t report all of last month.

In other news, we’ve recently surpassed 500 comments! Too bad nearly a third of them are SPEW… non-bot commenters, fight back!

That’s a good enough segue into this week’s first SPEW. It comes to us courtesy of user F Summers and is in reference to our post about Godzilla choking on a giant grape.

“I’ve been looking for anyone to create a write-up similar to this. I have ultimately found it after searching Google. Cheers!”

You see, the mainstream media won’t report on the really important matters such as this. Why? Because they are in the pocket of the {insert political party or shadow organization here}. They treat you like a mushroom; they keep you in the dark and feed you nothing but shit.

Our next steaming piece of spam comes to us from Shantay, in reference to our Singles Week we had a while back.

“I’ve been perusing plus taking pleasure in your site.”

Whoa, Shantay, it’s not that kind of site! I’m glad you’re… enjoying yourself, but grapes go in the mouth.

Lastly, we have Ronnie. Ronnie is a thinker, a philosopher, and has like minded friends. He’s commenting on this post in my award winning Off the Plate series.

“A colleague of mine and me have outlined this particular topic. Your blog post help resolved our question. We’ll keep reading more content! Thank you.”

First off, thanks for reading. Second, I’m glad to hear that more people are incensed and confused as to why flat head screws still exist. Perhaps your think-tank can solve this problem for America. Phillips or GTFO!

PS – Half-way through writing this article, I figured out how to make links pop up in their own window. Woot! However, I’m too lazy to fix the first couple of links, so deal with it.

Off the Plate: Worst part of the X-Mas season & Other stuff

You probably think it’s the hassle of holiday shopping, traveling and getting groped (more on that below), or the stress that comes with spending too much on gifts that pisses me off this time of year. No, it’s the stupid jewelery commercials. Oh, how I utterly hate them. I’ll not give examples or have further musings on this topic because that would make me think about this longer the two minutes it took me to write this (actually, while I was writing this, there were two jewelery commercials on during football).

Speaking of commercials… here’s one that doesn’t piss me off. It’s one of those things that just… speaks to me. If I didn’t have this thing called the internet (and Steam) I’d be inclined to shop there.

Now to the groping… we’ve all heard about the TSA scanners Vs. the turn your head and cough option (or perhaps they’re a little more invasive. Or a lot more.). Any way, if you don’t want to go the assault route and you’ve got a sense of humor, you can go this route. I love the free market.

Finally, those of you expecting an explanation of Friday’s post shall be disappointed… but not for long… or will you? No, you won’t… Or will you?

SPam of thE Week!

You know we’ve been slacking on our SPEW here at the grape when we get spam posts like this one from user Steel Darts in regards to this SPEW post:

“Hey there, please tell us when we will see a follow up!”

Ok, how about…. now? All of today’s SPEW comes to us courtesy of the above linked post.

Our first “official” SPEW comes to us from user Free Apple iPod:

“on occasion and I am seriously happy to report this latest write-up is honestly kinda effective and appreciably improved than 1 / 2 the various other worthless junk I read today”

Thanks…? I’m not sure if that was intended as a compliment or not. Honestly, I think your writing is less than “kinda effective.”

Next up is user Ashsul:

“hi thanks for the reading.”

No problem, thanks for the writing.

Next we have user… U Porn. Yeah, you know where this is going:

“XXX desert”

This post makes me wonder… did they mean dessert? ‘Cause, that would make more sense. Who wants a XXX desert? Get some lube on the set!

Finally, we have user Community Software… yeah, I don’t know what that means either.

“Very instructive and wonderful bodily structure of subject material , now that’s user genial”

Yes, that is a sexy body of text… but keep your hands off of your “genials.”

Off the Plate: Career Lines

Certain professions have access to some great one-liners. These aren’t necessarily pick up lines, rather, they’re phrases that make sense when they are uttered by said professions. You’ll get it when you start reading them…

For example, if you’re an owner of a model train store:

“If she was a train, she’d be HO scale.” You might be thinking you don’t need to be a model train shop owner, you could just go to a model train show and use the line there. Really? You go to a model train show and try and find someone who fits the HO description.

Ok, on to the next one… a male news anchor (uttered while in bed at that… special moment):

“This just in!” This one works best if you’ve got a name like Barry Wood and you work for Action News.

Finally, as the cremation operator at a local dog shelter:

“That bitch is HOT!”

Ooooh, that last one was… well, you think you can do better? Post it in the comments section!
