Breaking News!!! CIA involved in 3D Food Printing

HEADLINE: CIA’s New Partnership To Advance Food 3D Printing

Ripped from the article:

“Our collaboration with the CIA provides the culinary community with a unique opportunity to explore and experience the open-ended possibilities of fusing 3D food printing with traditional culinary arts,” said Avi Reichental, president and CEO of 3DS. “Together we plan to advance culinary arts through education, exploration and experimentation by introducing 3D printing into the professional kitchen.”

Wow, those are… words. But it goes on…

“3DS has broken ground on its hybrid digital kitchen and event space, located in the heart of one of Los Angeles’ up-and-coming cuisine corridors, and plans to open it to the public this spring. The company plans to outfit its culinary innovation center with its latest food printers and invite pastry chefs, mixologists and molecular gastronomists to collaborate in creating new food experiences.”

Did you hear that? Mixologists AND molecular gastronomists. Sadam had those too.

Grapes in the news: Scholarship Edition

Good news for college bound students living in the grape growing areas in California; you can apply for a $74,000 in scholarships ($3,500 – $20,000 each). This is a win-win-win!

  1. Pay less for an over priced education!
  2. Every one knows California knows how to party (and isn’t that what getting an overpriced education is all about?).
  3. I’ve also heard Cali is super cool to the homeless, so when you can’t find a job after getting your degree, no worries!

You can apply directly on GrapesFromCalifornia.com

New Year, New Posts!

It’s been a while since I’ve published Monday images, but I’ve still been taking them and picking off a few I see on the internet. So, I figured the new year would give me a built in excuse to post.

First up is an image I took over the summer at Cabela’s. Since this was in the fishing section and not the toilet training section I’m assuming this has to do with fishing. Still, with a name like “Crappie! No. 2” produced by a company called B ‘n’ M, I could be deceived.

Next up… we have a boneless steak. Interestingly, a 7-bone steak doesn’t have seven bones. Rather, the bone looks like a “7”… but it still has a freakin’ bone in it.

Finally… I remember butter, but I still can’t believe it.

Muscat Grape Review

Back in May, a coworker was kind enough to drop off some muscat grapes for my tasting pleasure. I enjoyed them, but didn’t take very good tasting notes:

Grapey flavor

Not as firm as traditional supermarket grapes

Sweet… almost too sweet

Rounder than more oval shaped grapes

So, there you have it…11-12-14

Cool Cat… Scratching Thingy

So, it’s been a while in between posts but I’ve been busy doing projects around the house and, more often, playing video games. I actually have a bit of content sitting on my desktop, but I’ve just been too lazy to post.

Back to the post… here’s something to put on your cat’s Christmas list this year:
